Although there are more than 600 animal ambulances here, there is an animal police, an animal emergency line (tel. 144) and almost every town has its own organised and subsidised shelter. How different this is in other countries. There, abandoned animals are often severely mistreated and often injured on the street for a long time. Fortunately, in these countries there are also animal lovers who want to help them with love. But they usually don't have the financial resources to do so.
